Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first visit.
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us by phone, WhatsApp, or through this form. Our physiotherapist will conduct a full assessment at your first appointment. However, if you have imaging reports (X-ray, MRI) or a doctor's letter, please bring these as they are very helpful.
What should I wear and bring to my first appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows access to the area being treated (e.g., shorts for knee problems, a vest for shoulder issues). Bring any previous medical reports, X-rays, or MRI scans. A list of your current medications is also helpful. Arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete your intake form.
How long does a physiotherapy session take?
Your initial assessment typically lasts 45–60 minutes. This includes a thorough history, movement assessment, and often the start of your first treatment. Follow-up sessions are usually 30–45 minutes depending on your condition and treatment plan.
Is physiotherapy painful?
Physiotherapy should not be painful. Some techniques — like deep tissue massage or stretching stiff joints — may cause temporary discomfort, but your physiotherapist will always work within your comfort level. You should always tell your therapist if something is too uncomfortable. Some mild soreness after a session is normal and usually resolves within 24 hours.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies greatly depending on your condition, how long you have had it, and your goals. Many acute injuries improve significantly within 4–6 sessions. Chronic conditions or post-surgery rehabilitation may require 8–12 sessions or more. After your assessment, your physiotherapist will give you a realistic treatment plan with an estimated number of sessions.
Do you offer home visits or online consultations?
We primarily treat patients at our Islamabad clinic, which has all the equipment needed for effective treatment. However, in some cases — particularly for elderly patients or those with mobility difficulties — home visits may be arranged. Please contact us via WhatsApp to discuss your specific requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.
